7 Ways To Use Your Photographs After The Wedding

  1. Backup and storage. If you’ve used us as your photographers, then your pictures will be kept in your online gallery for 1 year. We always advise our couples to download the photos as you never know what could happen! Once you download them, we recommend keeping a separate copy on a USB or hard drive that you keep in a fireproof safe, or just somewhere really safe.  You can also upload them as a ZIP files in your Google Drive or Dropbox if you’d like for safe keeping in your own cloud software.  It’s important that you are backing them up in more than one place - as heaven forbid they are just on your laptop and a cup of tea spills on it (I say this from experience having sacrificed more than one laptop to the tea gods). We recommend backing them up in 2-3 places. Now, whilst we do our very best to keep all our backup files safe, on multiple hard drives and in a cloud, you never know! It’s always better to be safe than sorry!

  2. Printing.  Don’t get us wrong, digitals are amazing (we’ll be the fist to admit our phone gallery has more than 10,000 pictures in it), as well as the online backups, but here’s the thing… we used to have all our photos backed up on USB (from our earlier days) !  Technology is always changing, so even though we encourage you to back them up,  we also encourage you to PRINT THEM. Chances are… you won’t be pulling out a Google Drive folder in the near future to relive your wedding day. And how much did you cherish being able to flip through pictures your parents printed. We still love going through them, and they still love pulling them all out. This is why we highly highly highly recommend getting prints made of your favourite images, whether that’s in an album, in a print set and kept in a nice box, or as a canvas or framed prints.   We recommend, first and foremost, the shop connected to your gallery, but you do always have the choice to print on your own as well.

  3. Albums. Speaking of printing, we think the best way to preserve your wedding memories is in an album.  Any of our past couples who have gotten an album tell us over and over again how often they look through their wedding albums and relive their days.  There are so many styles of albums you can choose from these days - and we use an amazing company that really helps us personalise the album to what you like.

  4. Another fun option that we love is creating a calendar with 12 of your favourite photos to display in your kitchen or office. We won’t be telling the full truth if we didn’t say we do it each year with photos that we love of us (and Roscoe of course). You will get to show off a new photo each month to any visitors you have at your home or office, and it’s just a lovely reminder each month of a different moment of your big day. It is such a great way to keep the memories and conversation about your favourite day going from the whole year!

  5. Share! We love when our couples share their beautiful wedding photos with friends and family, so share away! Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook….all amazing options. They’re yours to have fun with online and we love seeing our couples eager to share on their social media feeds.

  6. Thank you cards. Most couples are excited to put their images to good use, and what better way than to use it on your thank you cards! Print a picture on one side and write on the other.  It’s such a fab way to send a little picture of the day to your guests as well, it always goes down a treat. We’ve personally used Vista Print for this before - but please feel free to use any company you choose!

  7. Gifts.  Listen here, your best friends and your family members are also going to be over the moon excited to see your wedding pictures. They were right there with you celebrating the whole day!  For a holiday gift, birthday gift, Mother’s or Father’s Day gift, consider getting some framed prints for the people who have loved you and raised you all these years.  (And maybe throw in a few printed pictures for your wedding party as a thank you to them!)

At the end of the day, these are just a few of our favourite ways to really savour your memories and gorgeous photos from your wedding day - but there are really so many more options.

If you do choose to do any of these options, or if you have any questions or just want to run an idea by us before you order, we are here for you!

As always - if you are looking for wedding photographers and you have any questions just contact us and we would be more than happy to help!
